POTTERY WHEEL EXPERIENCE GREAT FUN FOR ALL minimum age 12yr
1 hour Pottery Wheel Experiences with 1 hour painting are only on Saturdays and Sundays unless you are booking for 5 people.
Rachel Byass Ceramics in Pontefract West Yorkshire runs pottery wheel experiences for ages 12 years to adults, our most senior potter was 95 years old and it had been on her bucket list for 50 years. Rachel has been teaching the wheel for 35 years and has a real passion for it.
1 hour throwing and 1 hour painting what is included
- Your ball of clay is all ready to shape on your own wheel
- How to cone up the pot and shape it into a bowl, vase, painter or hug mug
- Dry the pot off ready to paint
- one hours painting time with the help of Cath with 20 years pottery experience lots of tools and gadgets to help you make a great job of the painting
- Tea, coffee or soft drinks free while you paint

My daughter booked for her and I to come one afternoon for 2 hrs of fun. We LOVED it! A couple were in finishing off their accomplishments (for her 40th), a party were booked in for the weekend (there’s a flat you can book too!)- for someone’s 50th, Rachel has had every event, and even a 90 yr. old. Rachel is incredibly skilled and talented- she is a wonderful teacher. Katie and I made wide dishes, each being given the tricks of the trade and so much help as required, then the crowning glory was to use paints and streak them up the sides whilst on the spinner! Hilarious. I can only say you will have such a whale of a time, lots of fun and have something to show for your efforts- I can’t wait to return to collect after it’s been in the kiln!
